Root Canal Treatment
Root canal/Endodontic treatment is designed to relieve pain and save your teeth.
Why do I need a Root Canal?
Decay can cause a tooth’s pulp to become infected, resulting in pain and much more serious problems. The pulp is the area inside the tooth containing nerve, blood vessels, and connective tissue.
Root canal treatment must be done in order to save the tooth. The alternative is an extraction.
What is root canal treatment?
Root canal treatment requires the removal of the infected pulp. The pulp is an important component in developing teeth. However, a fully developed tooth can actually function without its pulp.
Subsequently, the now hollow interior of the tooth is cleaned and filled with filling material. The final step requires the attachment of a crown on top to seal the tooth.
The restored tooth is fully functional and has excellent longevity, provided you maintain good oral hygiene.
